Nümph history
There are seven young women behind the Danish clothes brand Nümph. A businessman saw their potential, gave them a money bag and asked them to create the type of clothes that they wished to wear themselves.
They are a young and creative team, all with lots of experience from working for major Danish fashion companies. Still, they missed what makes going to work REALLY fun: to create clothes that they themselves wish to wear and pull out of the wardrobe cabinet time and again. Feminine, yet edgy. Faultless, yet affordable with design and tailor details. When CEO of Solid A/S Per Johansen wanted to invest, they jumped at the offer at once which so far has been a successful result in creating and launching the still reasonably new Danish brand nümph.
nümph is the sum of dreams and skills of these seven young women. Each woman is a specialist within design, print, graphic and marketing and together see themselves and their jobs as a dream come true. They all took part in building the brand from scratch and therefore have particular obligations towards each other: they agree that they will change their course, if one day their hearts are no longer in the project. It is crucial that the heart reaches both the store and the girl who will wear the clothes. Gorgeous stores in Denmark, Norway and the rest of Europe are now selling their clothes and they hope that many girls will take pleasure in the design of the nymphs.
The seven women behind nümph have been given free play, and this has resulted in a strong, self-confident and super useful brand. Just the thing to brighten up a somewhat dull wardrobe. Just the thing to lighten up a girl's Thursday, as the prices still allow her to enjoy a couple of mojitos or buy a bouquet of white tulips for her girl friend. This small, daily luxury that we can all afford as price-points are at a very affordable level.
Six annual collections and the creative input from seven Danish nymphs make nümph a strong and very personal brand. ‘Exactly like the nymphs in the fairy-tales who are strong as giants and gentle as angels, nümph is not only one girl, one style, but many opportunities to create one's own personal look'.
Nümph - this is who they are today
nümph is clothes with soul and personality. The women behind the label still feel that it is indeed a dream come true as they are free to design their ideal type of clothes - there are no limitations.
Their dream was to create a brand from scratch, which is different and stronger simply because nümph sums up their experiences and creativity: cutting edge, twisted, feminine and rough, vulnerable and strong. Their collections are also colourful and quirky in their fabrics and prints.
Like the nymphs in the fairy-tales who fearlessly and very confident of their own strength run through the forest - these are the thoughts behind nümph. Trusting your own creativity and professional skills, they dare to live out their dreams. Experimenting with shapes, details and print is the sum of our individual experiences.

The brand was new to us for the autumn/winter season 2007 and has had a successful time on our rails in the Totnes shop. As from autumn/winter season 2008 we are testing the waters with this great brand in our Torquay shop too and hope that it will compliment our current offer well.
