Out Of Xile Party Pieces

If you’re anything like me, you’re planning the perfect party outfit to carry you through this December. The perfect dress, perfect beads and perfect shoes. You’ll be scouting around, trying on all of your options before finally making a decision and buying it all in two seconds flat.

But, and this is a very big but, I have been bitten doing this. Last week three beautiful silk and satin dresses from Out of Xile hit the shop-floor. Love. At. First. Sight.
The choices – an electric blue jersey and silk creation (also available in black) that cinches in your waist whilst flowing out easily over your hips, or a fab black number in jersey and satin.

I had my heart set on one of them, and lo! after just two days on the shop floor and me manically planning all of the various outfit options, bang – my size is gone.

The moral of this tale? Out Of Xile sells out fast!!! And if you’re in love with a dress, just go for it… treat yourself or you’ll have to start all of your planning from scratch…
See you soon

My Odd Molly Christmas Wishlist

As with all good girls I am hoping that Father Christmas is going to bring me one or two goodies this year and I have started writing my wishlist ready to put in the post to the North Pole later this week. There are many lovely things on my list, things which I wouldn’t buy for myself but would love as a treat from Santa. Amongst other lovely things there are several clothes & accessories on my list. Odd Molly is top of my clothes-list… of course!

Yearning for the Odd Molly Taradiddle dree red butterfly dress £164 which I would wear for Christmas Eve in Sweden.

Second on my list is the grey Hoodly Knit Tunic, £112 which has just the right chunkyness and great for throwing on over the Odd Molly white Good T-shirt, £33 (third on my list) and my favourite pair of Paige Denim ripped jeans.

Fourth on my Odd Molly wishlist is the blue Florist Jacquard fingerless mittens £51. Love the traditional nordic pattern and the vibrant Odd Molly colours.

Let’s hope my Molly-wishes will come true.

The Luxe Tux

One of the most stylish objects of desire this season and a safe bet for a luxurious and glam look is by far the tuxedo style jacket. Sleek, black and oh so sophisticated it offers a guaranteed feeling of luxe! New in this week is a tux by Jackpot which at £115 will add glamour to any dress or trousers in your wardrobe. It is black, sleek, shiny and sexy and comes in a fitted, cropped package with satin trim collars and pockets with dipped hemline at the front to add even more shape to an already flattering piece of luxe.

What to wear with a tux? Anything really. Don’t let it limit your options but instead use it to bring out the glam-factor in the dresses, skirts and trousers in your wardrobe. For added luxe dig out the sequins and the glitter or pick up a Soaked in Luxury (just like the name suggests) seqiuned skirt, £60 or a sequined waistcoat in silver or black, £39.95 by Saint Tropez. Add statement jewellery in form of pearls, glittery beads and black for a truly stylish party-look!
Or wear the tux over a dress. Long, short, fitted or loose, let the tux do the talking. Put on your killer heels or a pair of the very on-trend ankle boots and you can be sure to make an entrance at this year’s christmas party!

Noa Noa and Sandwich Lead The way For Christmas Treats

Uh oh… it’s getting to that point where we all have to seriously start thinking about Christmas present hunting if we want to avoid pre-Christmas mayhem. I always struggle with this, worrying that if I buy too early I’ll find something much much better down the line. But of course that isn’t the case at all… the later I leave it the more rushed the present buying, and the more random the outcome. Spare a thought for the poor soul who ends up with the remote control toy car from the local news-agent that I bought last Christmas eve (I don’t think my grandmother was too impressed by that one!)

We have some fab present options in store at the moment to suit anybody and everybody (and any budget too).  Sandwich’s luxe grey sheep-fur collar, £46, is snuggley, sumptuous and won’t break the bank. For the same price and also from Sandwich are two pure wool rouched scarves, one in a smoky grey and the other in a dark, dusty pink.

Noa Noa’s offerings include a range of gorgeous socks from just £13, but my fave pressie bet is the super-cute Fair-isle beanie at £25 with matching mittens at £29. Chocolate and cream… seriously good enough to eat.

Other options include Jackpot’s pink floral silk scarf, French Connection’s funky black and gold striped belt and Great Plains’ or “old gold” bangles. To ramp your presents up a notch, why not take a look at the beautiful cashmere pieces by Caroline, prices start at £128.

Whatever you choose, get a head start and save yourselves that pre-Christmas panic!

Still stuck? Come and see us in store at Diva, Totnes or give one of our style advisers a call on 01803 866681 and we’ll be more than happy to help you chose.
See you soon

Odd Molly LBD Alternatives

Got a do to go to, but just don’t want to go down the LBD route again? Then Odd Molly has the answer, or make that answers! With these dark damp evenings, all I want to do is hibernate in one of my fab pieces of Odd Molly knitwear (I’m an avid collector and my current faves are the ‘Lovely Knit’ cardi and the multi-coloured ‘west vest’ that goes over just about everything!), but on occasion I have to break out of my hibernation-knitwear-huddle, dress up and go out… and if I’m going to do that I’m going to do it with a splash of colour. Here are my top 3 Odd Molly pieces for the evening…

1.    A-one Short Silk Dress, £284, Odd Molly
Girly and fabulous. Flouncy, flirty and a great splash of silky colour.

2.    Red Taradiddle Dree Butterfly Tunic Dress, £164, Odd Molly
Great seasonal colour and sexy back detail at the neckline.

3.    Grey Everywear Knit Dress, £258, Odd Molly
If you can’t steal yourself away from the knitwear for just one evening, then this pretty knit dress is just the answer.

See you soon

Steel, Slate, Storm & Charcoal

Greys and blues come in all shades this season and I love the palette as a fresh alternative to the black. A couple of winters ago I would wear nothing but black. This season I can’t get enough of greys and blues and Noa Noa’s latest pieces are just that! Lusting terribly after the latest dresses in storm blue; the soft corderoy dress, £78 and the halterneck pleat dress, also £78. Both are just so wearable and have all the lovely details and vintage style look which Noa Noa does so fantastically well. At the same time, you can wear them with boots & leggings and play with accessories for an edgier look or certainly a different look if you don’t fancy the girlie version.

Out of Xile is another label who has a lot to offer in the charcoal department this season. Out of Xile’s dressier style means you can go straight from work to the party by simply adding heels, statement jewellery and lipstick! Love the jersey bubble hem dress, £98 and the fitted, hooded jacket £166. Add a bit of red to brighten the look and away you go.

More so than black, the greys work so well layered with other colours as it is a softer contrast. Whether you choose soft shades or brights you simply can’t go wrong. Layers are still very on trend and a brilliant way to create different looks with what your wardrobe has to offer.
