Slouchy Stunners

With the coming bank holiday, the thought of three days off in a row is making me long to pull on some easy pieces and slouch around with a good book – and I’ve have just found the absolute perfect outfit by Odd Molly to do just this.

Team Odd Molly’s black velour hoody, £102, with her black velour frilled sweat pants, £89, for the ultimate softly-softly slouchy-number! I layered it over a mulberry long organic cotton tee by Stewart + Brown to give my wobbly bits a bit of confidence and there it was- my ideal outfit.

For a quick alternative opt for the black velour frilled dress, also by Odd Molly, and wear it open to show off the colour of your underneath layer, (beware, it you fancy one of these, we have almost sold out already!)

Have a fab weekend,
See you soon

Noa Noa In The Navy

There are some fab navy pieces from Noa Noa this week. I have spent years of living in fear of wearing navy after finally escaping the imprisonment of my horrendous school uniform. But, having realized I was seriously missing out, I’ve been gradually getting over my phobia (the girls here are the best therapy in the world) and this latest hit of Noa Noa has finally put pad to it for good…

Top five Noa Noa in the Navy
1. Mongolian Style Reversible Gilet, £143
Gorgeous embroidered navy gilet, lined with shaggy black Mongolian style fake fur. Snug as a … in a …

2.  Navy Fine Knit Cardigan, £58
Mohair and wool knit with short sleeves. Ideal for layering and dressing up or down

3. Navy Light Wool Scarf, £48
100% wool and so elegant! Knot any which way to ad a little Parisian chic to your outfit

4. Cotton Pleated Tunic, £48
Pleated at the front and back with a lovely shirt collar. Belt it, layer it, love it

5. Navy and White Stripe Tee, £18
The ultimate accessory – a pure cotton long sleeve tee that you can layer under anything.

Going For Grey

Is grey the new black? Yes, definitely for me! A few years ago I would never wear grey. It made me feel dull and… well, grey. Now I am loving it! The trick is to find the shade of grey to suit you and your colours. Some grey shades look better than others and grey is a fabulous colour to match with almost any other colour. It simply works. There are so many lovely shades from the lightest silver grey to dark charcoal grey most of which works pretty much all year around. Grey works with the palest pastels, the deepest reds, purples and greens as well as the bright 80′s shades if you want to go a bit mad on the colour front. Or simply keep it simple with a grey cardi over a white tee – a very clean & fresh look.
Pretty much all labels have so far contributed to the grey factor this season. The latest hit of news came this week from Odd Molly, Farhi, Avoca and Michael Stars with both knitwear, tunics and tees to induldge in. Odd Molly is of course at the top of my list with the ‘I am the one’ tee followed by a grey long everyday cardigan and a cotton tunic with all Odd Molly’s signature trimmings. From Farhi and Michael Stars we have new tees in various shapes and Avoca Anthology made their entrance with a very versatile jersey tunic, also available in navy and purple.

And there is more to come from Farhi, lovely grey cashmere from Marilyn Moore and Italian luxe jersey pieces from European Culture. Go grey this season… all the way to the roots.

Odd Molly – ‘I Am The One’

Swedish Odd Molly is about to hit the rails this week and we are very excited. Their pretty feminine folklore inspired style is always a refreshing addition to your wardrobe. Odd Molly loves colours and pretty details such as embroidered butterfly-pattern, pretty prints, bows & ribbons. All signature details to define what makes Odd Molly what it is – a quirky individual to suit any woman no matter her style, shape, age or colour.

As with every season there are lovely tunic blouses and tunic dresses to indulge in and we also love the basic tees which are simply irresistable. At only £33, they are a great must-have in either white or charcoal grey. ‘I am the one’ is a great fit tee with a fabulous print on the back ‘nothing like a good skipabeat moment’ which I want to wear today and tomorrow and the day after that with my favourite distressed jeans and boots.

Loving Odd Molly – always!

Invest In Your Future

I know it’s like being a teenager again – being told to invest in your future, to put yourself out there now in order to benefit in the days, months and years to come. Well, trust me – what I’m proposing is far more fun than that whole malarkey!

As we all know, the new season is here and making a splash. Hmm… splash… bad choice of word at the moment… splash – English summer… kind of synonymous really! And isn’t it making your new season shopping choices difficult? On one hand you’re sick of the sight of your summer wardrobe, yet on the other hand you’re still secretly hoping for some sunny days before autumn hits.

I have a suggestion – a little investment shopping. What do I mean by this? Plump for beautiful new season pieces that are perfect for wearing straight away, even if the weather perks up. BUT – and this is a very big but- these pieces will also take you into the wilds of autumn, the badlands of winter and out the other side again – all with a little simple layering, some luscious leggings, l/s tees and knee high boots (and of course a cute cardi or two never goes amiss)

An example to get you started–

The investment – Red damask tartan dress, £69 by Sandwich
A strappy little number that would do very nicely with some flip-flops as a fab sun-(ha!)-dress.
The autumn – pull on over a fine long-sleeved tee with some sheer black footless tights and ballet pumps.
The winter – swap the footless tight for wooly footed ones, add in a pair of Camper knee high boots, and a jacket like the fabulously warm boiled wool navy one,  by Sandwich, £161 or a chunky cardi – (sleeveless if you want to show off your layering to the max)

If you’re not a fan of tartan – try either of the Farhi silk dresses and any of gorgeous tunic-dresses that have just arrived in-store. The same rules can apply to tops too – swap linens for jeans, layer up the sleeves, throw on a cardi… the possibilities are endless.
The best thing is that you can start investing straight away, because you’re safe in the knowledge that whatever happens with the weather, this piece will take you through seasons.

Sandwich has Arrived!

The day we have all been waiting for is finally here! The Autumn collection from Sandwich is coming in this week and there are some fabulous pieces to be had. Why do we love Sandwich so much? It is a label which does efforless chic with just the right balance of style and comfort. This season sees some great tunic dresses in jersey and cotton in lovely navy, turqoise and brown with a fabulous few pieces in tartan brushed cotton which make for perfect transitional pieces at this time a year. Easy to wear on their own, over leggings or over a pair of slim jeans for when the temperature is dropping.

Sandwich is also offering some irresisteable knitwear to ease in to autumn. A good alternative to a jacket at this time of the year to throw on when walking the dog or to wrap up in during late summer nights in front of the bbq. First in is a couple of shortsleeve chunkies in basic colours which would easily slot in to your summer and autumn wardrobe. There is also a fabulous berry-coloured longer cardigan with funky detailing on the back which I am desperately longing for. Lovely to wear over my favourite jeans and boots.
Sandwich has arrived and we are loving this casual chic label. Hope you do to!
